Daniel Dominey
I was born profoundly Deaf, so I understand first-hand both the challenges and the joys of navigating communication. My own experiences as a learner inspired me to teach British Sign Language in a friendly, supportive and accessible way -taking the pain and pressure out of learning.
With nine years of teaching experience, I’m known for seeing how every layer of BSL interact to create the beautiful language of BSL. I turn these expert insights into clear, manageable learning through games, activities and real conversation, so my learners gain confidence and build strong foundations.
Every Zoom session is tailored to you. Whether you’re learning to communicate with family, preparing for an assessment, improving your conversational skills or simply learning for enjoyment, you’ll receive patient guidance and plenty of opportunities to practise.
I’m also the founder of Chatty Hands BSL Community Cafe in Leigh on Sea and can often be found supporting and attending local Deaf events.

No. Tutoring can be adapted for complete beginners as well as learners who already have some BSL experience.
During your free chat, we can discuss what you already know and what you would like to achieve. Your tuition will then be tailored to your current level.

Yes. Personal BSL tutoring is available for children and can be adapted to suit their age, interests and learning needs.

Personal tutoring is delivered live on Zoom, so you can learn from the comfort of your own home.
You will need a reliable internet connection and either a laptop or tablet with a camera positioned so your face, hands and upper body can be seen clearly.

In-person tutoring may be available by arrangement. Please book a free chat to discuss availability, location and pricing.

A single one-hour Zoom session costs £40.
A package of six sessions costs £210 -that’s £35 per session and a saving of £30 compared with booking separately.
The initial chat is completely free, with no obligation to book tutoring afterwards. Please enquire for in-person tutoring prices.
